Back to Business

So I have done pretty good at the "Good Money" Steward. I have cut my expenses as much as possible.

Found ways to cut utilities, groceries, gas, entertainment, baby needs. I am on a good path for that.

I have also been practicing Good Stewardship over my children....they are definitely a blessing from God. So, we have been learning, taking family walks, spending family time together. We cook and make food to freeze and soon can together. I've always done all the necessary things, but sometimes I overlooked the needed things....attention, love, and time. Balance can be hard, especially when you are on your own. We are well on our way :)

Now Good Stewardship over me. I take care of myself pretty well. However, I need to quit smoking which helps with Good Stewardship #1 (Money) and my health. I also have a few more pounds to go to be back to my pre-baby size. I have only about 5-8 pounds to go, but I am determined to be fit and in shape. I've always said I don't care what the scale says...I care what the mirror says.

I am growing spiritually and that is awesome. I have a new hobby, which allows me a release and time to NOT THINK. I have old friends and new friends I hang out with. I am ready for college to start in August when my financial aide kicks in. All set to go on that. Now I would really just like to find some really nice guys to date. I feel I have good balance in most areas. Health and love are next.

Wish me luck!

Life's purpose

Life is a test, a trust and temporary.

A test in how we handle trials and tribulations. A trust in the things God has already given us today. Temporary because we will all die and spend eternity wherever we choose to do so (ie: heaven or hell).

So today I continue to focus on how I am and can be a good steward with the money God has blessed me with.

But I am also going to focus on what I am thankful for, what I am looking forward to, and what I want to do in my lifetime.

Taking time to re-evaluate, appreciate and focus can be the best time spent when wanting to develop your life to its fullest. I challenge you to do the same.

Good Stewardship~Money

I guess the easiest place to start figuring out if I am a good steward, when it comes to the things God has given me, is money.

I began tithing last month for the first time in a long time. My faith hasn't been there for doing that (which is absolutely no excuse because I have known what is right). Now that I am at my lowest point financially, I have decided this was the best time to give in faith.

I pay all of my bills on time and I don't run up debt.

So, where are some areas I can improve on in order to be a good steward?

1) Stop eating out so much. I love food and I love to cook but I allow my circumstances and "feelings" determine if I am going to put forth the little effort it takes to prepare my own meals. It is expensive and it is most of the time unsatisfing anyways.

2) I need to cancel or switch things that are costly that I don't need, while providing things I do need.

3) I need to do my house projects one at a time and as the money provides itself. Life is not lived in a day and my home and personal belongings don't have to be accumulated all right now.

5) Give as God leads me to do. Spend as God "oks" me to do.  Save and invest as he directs me to do. And appreciate and take care of what I have today, because so many other people in the world would think I have it all.

These are my goals to begin this week....I'll keep you posted on my progress...

One bite at a time :)

Where I am today...

I am 36 years old.

I have four awesome children, who really give my life meaning. I don't say that because we mothers have to say that. I say it because it is true. Without my children, I don't think I would have had much of a life or any real purpose at this point. They have been my reason to get up every morning and to carry on no matter what. They have saved me.

I am pending a second divorce in my life, this time it is from "the one". If ever I had believed in a "the one" theory, trust me when I say he was it. Was it because he was perfect, flawless and did everything to be the best husband to me or man in general?  Not at all. But he was my balance, the other half of me (as people like to say). He was the missing puzzle piece...my soulmate. You don't have to be the same person or agree on anything to know that you know this person was it for you. If you haven't experienced that feeling, then keep looking for it.

So where do I go from here? Life will go on and I know how to survive. That is one lesson in life I have learned quite well. I can continue to hope for my marriage to come back to life, that would entail a man to come back from a war where he lost a big part of himself. Not even sure he knows that he didn't fully survive. Seems pretty silly to hope for that, but secretly I still do.

But for now I have to accept what I know to be true today...

I am on my way to being divorced, I have four great children, I have a home and life. Deep down I am really really sad, but I know I want God's will in my life. I have prayed for that, whatever that be. Because no matter what heartache I may face, he will steer me in the right direction to give me more than I have ever wanted or thought of having.

So I am doing my best to let God lead the way. My first lesson is Good Stewardship...let's see what I learn...

The beginning...

Life is a unique thing. It offers so many possibilities, challenges, twists and turns on our paths.

We all start the game out as clean slates (if you will). We all perish from this earth. These are two facts.

But, the lives we live are not the same. We all have our own joys and sorrows, triumphs and tragedies, rewards and consequences.

We all have our own stories...this is mine...
